Running Time (01:10:27)
My apologies for the late posting. I accidentally deleted the show’s theme from my database last week while doing a drive backup. This resulted in a delay in editing and a noticeable 5 second dead air section at the start of the show, so please do bear with it. Next week should be back to normal. With no East Screen cinema releases to discuss this week, Kevin and I turn out attention to some upcoming Asian films and our thoughts on them after viewing the trailers. Links to these trailers have been provided in the notes below.

Oh, there’s one thing you guys failed to mention. In “Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen”, this actually isn’t the first time Donnie Yen is playing the character. He played the same character in a television series remake of “Fist of Fury”. Bey Logan was one of the bad guys from what I recall.
And also, Bruce Leung Siu-Lung (from “Kung Fu Hustle”) also played the same character in the ATV produced “The Legendary Fok” in 1980 (yes, I know it’s a funny name when read in English. lol!). In fact, the theme song was even remixed/revamped as the theme song to the recent Hong kong film “Gallants” (note: the song you hear in the credit roll) and that also starred Bruce Leung.
Bruce’s 70th birthday is being celebrated this year; perhaps that explains some of the strangeness behind “Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen” — as much as it can be explained, anyway. Maybe they’ll work in the yellow tracksuit too.
Thanks for all the info gentlemen. Some great commentary and trivia all around.
Saw “Inception” last night – thought it was very good but it’s the kind of film I’ll need to watch again to get more out of it (films with a more conventional storytelling style are more often my thing)
Put me in mind of “The Matrix” too in some respects although I never really got any more from that than I got on the first watch (although I felt I should have)!
