<itunes:summary>Episode 149 of the East Screen West Screen podcast. Talking films from Hong Kong to Hollywood and lots of stuff in between.
Hong Kong is a buzz this week with tech talk and spy games, but Kevin and I still manage to work in a couple films. Up first is the the China film A WEDDING INVITATION [分手合约] starring Bai Bai He and Eddie Peng. We then try to get our drink on for the return of the wolf-pack in THE HANGOVER III.

We also talk briefly about the NSA/Snowden case as well as some of the news from WWDC and E3.

On a slightly rushed show this week, Kevin and I discuss another film from an actress turned director with Vicky Zhao's SO YOUNG [致我們終將逝去的青春]. Then Kevin takes on the latest incarnation of the classic know as THE GREAT GATSBY.

We also talk about some local events here in Hong Kong this week, including the closing of another classic cinema house (Chinachem).

<itunes:summary>Episode 147 of the East Screen West Screen podcast. Talking films from Hong Kong to Hollywood and lots of stuff in between.
This week I look at the new film from actress turned director Charlie Young CHRISTMAS ROSE [聖誕玫瑰]. Then fresh off the plane from his excursion to Cannes, Kevin helps me reign in my man crush on Vin Diesel and the latest entry in his hot rod/action series FAST AND FURIOUS 6.

Kevin also gives us the low-down on the Cannes Film Festival and what it is like to be an attendee.

Technical Note: My sound levels were really low in comparison with Kevin on this episode. Not sure if it was a mixer setting that got moved, or an issue with my mic. I attempted to normalize as much as a could, but it's still quite noticeable. Sincere apologies for this.
